Joerns Healthcare

Healthcare marketing case study - how we helped Joerns Healthcare design a patient handling sling ordering solution.

The Challenge

Joerns Healthcare is one of the leading global manufacturers and distributors of patient handling solutions to the healthcare sector. The Company also supplies bespoke lifting slings, that attach to the lifting hoists, for patients of all sizes and abilities.

Joerns approached us to design an
online platform for customers to order made-to-measure slings.

The company was previously reliant on a paper-based system, where customers would fax hand-written orders to head office. This system was proving slow and prone to ordering inaccuracies and errors. Following a series of consultations with Joerns and NHS clinicians, we produced a full specification for the user interface and ordering procedure.

The Solution

The user is guided through 5 key stages, capturing the information required to create the best fitting sling for the patient. At the end of the process, suitable sling types are recommended and the customer can request the order via Joerns’s distribution centre.

The Oxford® Sling Selector provides our customers with a quick and easy way of identifying the most suitable slings for their patient. It has become an invaluable tool for carers and healthcare professionals alike working in the field of patient handling. The project was an intricate and complex one, but Traffic understood our requirements from start to finish and worked flexibly to deliver on time.
